Air Asia from London (to KL) - anyone done it?

How grim is it, basically? Do you have to pay for all food for instance?

Also, would I be able to make another AA flight (To BKK) with exactly an hour turnaround (assuming the London flight touched down on time). AA stress they're strictly a point-to-point carrier wih no responsibility for connecting flights (even, one assumes, their own).

you have to pay for everything other than the seat. But I have read its not as cramped as the domestic flights. Unless you are looking for a cheap one way, why?

I've only flown AA once before to Krabi and the return was delayed by 90 minutes, so no way would I fly long haul and then be aiming to get another flight within an hour.

Planes spending little time on the ground is a major way that they save money - so if a flight is delayed in one direction that delay is far more likely to be passed on when the plane takes off again.

I don't think it's worth, what, twelve hours of worry.

There's only two reasons to fly with them - and I'm not a skinflint . I need to go back for family/emotional reasons but it's hurting (especially with no pay in April).

I booked a one-way over because I didn't know if and when I'd be coming back; it looks like I am and they're cheaper by a fair margin. 13 hours+ in economy is torrid whichever way you slice it, right?

12 hours in any economy class is hell, so why not take the cheap option?

The flight from Abu Dhabi to KL is 15,000 baht cheaper than Etihad's flight to Bangkok so I was thinking of it. However they've discontinued the route as of next week.

In your case toc I'd take a later flight to bkk, allowing at least 3 hours.

When the next cheapest option is normally Emirates, there's no debating it for me. There are few airlines I would stay truly loyal to but those guy are truly awesome and well worth the money...

Air Asia for an internal one hour flight, ok, if there's no Nok Air alternative...12 hours of them? No fucking thanks!

    AirAsiaX is costly

    AirAsiaX... be careful.

Most recently, my wife and I were stranded in Abu Dhabi when AirAsiaX announced they were canceling service to/from Abu Dhabi in January this year. They didn’t notify us(their stranded passengers)until Feb 10th. Neither did they offer any accommodation nor answer our emails asking for help. We had to get back to Malaysia on our own. They won’t reimburse our added expense either.

However, they said they will refund our return ticket, but can only do so within 30-50 days. What an attitude!
