Went up north to Nong Khai and Vientiane for about a week before Songkran. Here are a couple photo albums, taken with my original iPhone:

Nice pics Dave. I was a big fan of the Mexican place by the river in Vientiane. Good food at very reasonable prices![]()
Do you have coke?
Speaking of that, I went in there one night and ordered crepe for dessert, as I'd eaten elsewhere. I have a thing about hip-hop, rap, techno, etc. Well, when I sat down, they had something reasonable on the large sound system. But after I ordered, on came so hip-hop garbage. I asked if they could put on something different: Same as here is LOS, the guy acted as if it were completely impossible to change anything on their music system. So I left.
Oh, was interesting that there was a sprinkling of (none too attractive, but friendly) ladies sitting around offering you to share their table.
Obviously a popular place, but music is too important to me to be barraged with (what I feel is) crapola. Thankfully, there were other places that had better dining atmospheres.
Nice pics. I like Vientiane and Laos in general. Want to retire there one day.
I was just there last week. Here are a few more pics....bit of a ceremony with the family and a night out with the wife's friends.

Good photos. Brought back some memories. I remember the last - and only time - I was in Vientiane was to get my Imm 'B'. It was around this time of year and it was great to be a bit cooler. Also, I'm a sucker for all that left over French influence.
"Take this, brother; may it serve you well."
Great pics!
Vientiane is without doubt one of my favorite cities in the world. These photos are making me think about a return trip on the long weekend...
How do I post pics that I have on my computer?
^ You're a quiet one, aren't you, NET...
Damm...I just can't post those damm pictures even tho I uploaded them to an image hosting site.
Ah well.....&$*) it...time for another beer
What site did you upload them to? Use something like photobucket, then your the IMG line of code to post it here.![]()
This is it... The apocalypse.
Love the atmosphere at the Tex-Mex! Lots of "ladies of the night", good food, and decent music, I think.
