Just another hot concrete jungle - China beach, marble mountain and tailor made clothes make up for it though.

I was there in 2008. Danang is a drop off point for people coming from Hanoi on the train. Danang is quite close to Hoi An (45 mins by taxi). I climbed marble mountain and it is impressive. Big buddha sitting at the top and from there you can see China beach. China beach is a long, wind swept, beauty of a beach. Danang is a gorgeous area to take a train to because that is where you can see the sea and it is very mountainous. In that area of Danang you also have My Son ruins which is on the UNESCO world heritage list.

I did a thread on Vietnam, but noticed all my pics are gone because I closed that account.

View of the wind swept beach from marble mountain.

The Buddha at the top of Marble Mountain.

The view from across the mountain to the north side.

These were taken from my trip in '08.

it was some years ago i went to check it out,(typical attempt to overcharge me on the way back to hoi an.)but its nothing to write home about... just big crowded nam city, stick to hoi an, its much more worth it to stay, some charm, and quieter.
