Back in August I posted a thread about a bike trip I was planning from Kanchanaburi to The Three Pagodas Pass
and I received some helpful advice from this forum.
I'm planning another one from the Saturday the 20th to Wednesday the 24th and was hoping some of you on here would have some suggestions.
The trip back in August was pretty succesful, given the infrequent bursts of hard rain and the frequent drizzle, but I managed it in three days total with enough time to check out Sangklaburi and was hoping for a similar trip this time. I'm not tied down to the time limit so could go for longer if needs be, I was thinking about Petchabun or Ubon Ratchathani but ideally I'd like to start from somewhere already outside Bangkok.
Thanks in advance
Try the coastal route (not the main highway) from Petchaburi down to Prachuap Kirikhan. Also, I think the jaunt down from Rayong to Koh Kong is nice. Up north, Udon down the border road as far as you like is cool. Way up north you have the loop around Chiang Mai. Maybe the Mae Hong Song loop is doable in your timeframe, but you are pushing it a bit (it took me 7 days).
Basically, for 5 days you have a lot of choice. Buses and trains can get you out/in from Bangkok, after that there are any number of trips. It depends what you are into, mountains/beaches etc.
In October I am heading down to Prachuap. I like the rides down there.

Thanks, I think I've set on Cha-Am to Prachuap Kiri Khan.
Google Maps
I'm planning on going down to Cha-Am on Saturday, locating a bike and setting off on Sunday.
Do you know anywhere good to stay at the halfway point?
Is it possible to get to the Lenya national park from the Thai side?
Thanks again
