Which actor's father appeared on the show and what was his character/story?
Okay, I'm a bit fuzzy on this one, but, Alan Alda's father (Robert?) played the surgeon Dr Barrelli(?) He was a brilliant surgeon but up-himself and a closet alco. I have a sneaking suspicion he (Robert) also played another character during the course of the show's run, but again, I'm a bit fuzzy.
I ALSO saw a reference to another (male) Alda in the credits of a very late episode: maybe another relative making a screen debut as a soldier or casualty.
