I like Melanie Griffith. Very good in Something Wild with Jeff Daniels. I like a move called After Hours with a young Arquette

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Right thread....
Watched Little Children yesterday. Not bad. Some cracking scenes with the paedo. Particularly the pool scene with the swimmers tearing out of the water at the sight of the sexual predator perving about in his scuba gear. Very much like the scene in in Jaws on Amity Island beach with the panicked holidayers stumbling over each other to get out of the supposedly shark infested sea. I'm sure Little Children's scene was engineered to remind us of that. Also the 'climax' to the blind date. Marvellous.
Otherwise, it was pretty humdrum. Lacking that extra level of depth to the story that would have pushed it into the league of The Ice Storm for example or in a slightly different way Happiness which dealt with much the same subject matter. Winslet was good though, likewise that Wilson guy who may or may not be related to Owen Wilson. I can't be arsed checking.
Watched The Ruins too. Alright I suppose. The young actors to be fair, they played their parts well and added a little gravitas to something that was essentially just pony, ridiculous schlock horror.
Another killer plants movie after the abominable The Happening? They should really just make an updated version of Day Of The Triffids and have done with it. Superior source material and a real story. It could and probably would be very watchable.

Waiting for Wall-E,I think I will like it because the pre-reviews are so-so.That's usually a good sign. Hancock wasn't bad but I read too much before I saw it and expected too much!

Just watched Rules of Engagement...an unadulterated heap of simplistic shit which shames the US Marines and all the good things they have achieved...Tommy Lee Jones was a star...I should have known.

Made the big mistake of paying 120 baht to see the lastest Mummy flick. Pure crap. Left after 30 minutes.

Saw Batman. Enjoyed it. Heath stood out. Christian Bale is a cool cat. Awesome suits. Script a tad repetitive at times, though the Joker's lines were very good.
Dark, though a tad disjointed. Has it been edited by the Thai film lot?
3/5.

What did you think of the first two though? I'm presuming you thought they were a lot better?

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Meet the Spartans. It got really bad reviews and the were all totally justified. 0/10 Has to be a contender for one of the worst movies ever made.
10,000 B.C. Also got really bad reviews, but it was OK. Think Apocalypto for the masses. 7/10
He was a Quiet Man. Christian Slater plays an unlikely hero. Not bad, but the end makes you think, 'What???' 6/10
Whats eating Gilbert Grape. Enjoyable slow paced movie with good acting from Leo and Depp. 7/10

Is it? It looks like a movie for simpletons.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Wall-E was reviewed in Time/Newsweek as being a really important movie, which probably means its crap.
