Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Saw the trailer yesterday and it looked kinda lame. I'm sure technically it'll be wonderful, but two robots in love??
Probably win 7 Oscars....

See. A nice movie that works as allegory for the evil manipulation carried out on the general populace by multinational profit centred concerns. Bit like banks eh

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Kiss of the Dragon (2001)
Jet Li
A betrayed intelligence officer enlists the aid of a prostitute to prove his innocence from a deadly conspiracy while returning a favor to her.
5/10. A rare sortie into this genre for me. I'm not a great martial arts movie fan but I think Jet Li's got quite a nice movie star charisma and yet wouldn't tell you to f*** off if you approached him for an autograph. Plenty of martial arts moves as Jet takes on a whole world of assorted wooden actors and extras. I always think martial arts movies appeal to a certain kind of person. Oh.......I wonder how Barry George will survive now he's on the outside.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
^ Ever see 'Unleashed' with Jet Li in it Phil ? It's a bit schizopherenic - part London gangster movie (It's got Bob Hoskins in it and its set in London and has that 'English movie feel' to it - grey skies and rain, etc), part kung fu movie (Jet Li beats up bad guys), with a dollop of artistic preteniousness (Morgan Freeman as a blind pinao tuner who teaches Jet how to get in touch with himself and his emotions through the power of music, plus a soundtrack by Massive Attack), plus a cute kid.
It's not exactly Casablanca, in fact I can't quite decide if I like it or not, but its worth a watch.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
^ I tend to dip into a martial arts movie about once every three years, so I'll keep that one in mind for 2011. I think if you watch too many, they get into your blood and before I knew it, I'd be jumping off the sofa and performing a 360 degree roundhouse on the missis as she comes in from work.
Generally though, a five-minute stroll down Hong Kong's Avenue of Stars is about as enthusiastic as I get where martial arts are concerned.
