Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Speed Racer.
Unbelievably bad. I watched about 20 minutes and had to stop.
Avoid at all costs.

I agree, but my kids love it.

You need to make sure the subtitle file (.srt) has the exact same name as the movie (.avi) and make sure both .avi and .srt files are in the same folder. Then VLC will play the subs.

Yeah, it's very bad. I was desperate for something to watch. Could see the kids liking it though.

The Bourne Ultimatum - 4/5. Highly enjoyable action film.

Saw Eagle Eye yesterday, lots of disjointed action and a unbelievable ending, but not upset at having watched it. Would probably watch in the future again (not paying theater prices though!)

Yes, alternatively you can open VLC > go to file > open file > click on the 'Use subtitles file' check box > Browse > Find the subs file you have and double click it > click the Browse button above for the AVI/WMV or whatever itself and double click that before clicking OK in the bottom right. I think just renaming (if need be) the file extension and ensuring it's in the right gaff is just as easier if not easier though.
Oh and I thought Speed Racer was marvellous. In a cinema with a mint picture that is. I doubt it would be quite the experience with a lower grade picture quality on a smaller screen mind.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
just saw, for the first time -
good movie.
had wanted to see it since it come out. had possibly built it up to be a masterpiece, for me it wasn't. but that's my fault.
still, powerful stuff and most imaginative.

Tried to watch Run Fatboy, Run. I like Simon Pegg but this was just terrible. Not an original joke or thought in the 30 minutes I forced myself to sit through before deleting it.

^ Yes, that is a piece of steaming dog do-do, obviously churned out to cash in on Pegg's growing popularity. And I too don't know if he ran the marathon and got the girl.....I went outside to watch the grass grow instead.
In fact Pegg is rapidly being typecast - as the likeable but hopeless hero - he hasn't really changed much from his days in 'Spaced'.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
It surely can't be any worse than his latest effort How to Lose Friends, I saw a trailer for this yesterday and looks like a typically awful American 'comedy.' Co-starring Kirsten Dunst and Jeff Bridges, says it all really....

Haven't seen that one so will have to take your word for it.

But apart from the setting, "Men" has no actual plot connections to "God," as Morelli's film follows the friendship of two favela teenagers.

I thought it was a follow up (and might have posted as much)....only when I researched I found it wasn't!

Depends what you compare it against mate....if it was The Breakfast Club...yeah it's shite compared to that....however compared to Lizzy Borden's Revenge 2...or Ogre...it's really quite good
