This and "Blue Velvet" are my favorite Lynch movies. Can someone tell what the fuck "Mulholland Drive" was about?

I'd agree with the above review. It would, however, be a good movie for a drinking game with your mates, ala Withnail and I.

Only this time, whenever he Liam kills someone you take a drink. You'd be wankered by half way through the movie

I enjoyed it somewhat. Can only explain it by assuming the director played with outcome. All characters switched roles, and the outcome can be a number of possibilities.

Not a mainstream movie, but with an original story. Portrayel of how people can change when faced with a crisis.

Just came back from Canuck movie, Passchendaele. It was very disappointing. Stilted dialogue, uneven pacing, pointless lovestory, treacly soundtrack, and a baker's dozen of cliches from Screen Writing 101. About the only thing going for it is that they paid a lot of attention to detail when it came to uniforms, weapons, and equipment. Too bad that the battle sceens made up only about 20 minutes of a 2 hour film.

Excellent job by Denzel in that. I saw it on my flight to Singapore.

I saw two movies recently that I feel I should comment on.

    No Country For Old Men

I have two words for this - BO-RING!!!!!!!! I fell asleep after the first half hour and I was awakend by the shot of that air bottle thing. I tried to see what was happening, but it was so sloooooooooooow and drawn out, I couldn't keep my concentration on it. 2/10

    Get Smart

Now that was quality. Steve Carell was really good as Maxwell Smart. I used to watch the series when I was a kid, so seeing the movie and how well it was done was good. 8.5/10.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?

I just saw 'Max Payne' so here's a review...
It stars Mark Wahlberg (Boogie Nights, The Departed, New Kids on the Block = ) and co-stars Mila Kunis (That 70s Show & the voice of Meg on Family Guy = two worst characters on two shows!). The movie is taken from a video game of the same name. I never played it so can't comment on that. The movie itself is full of guns, violence & valkyries. It takes place in Manhattan where it's perpetually snowing. There's some blue liquid drug designed to make soldiers better killers in order to help in the war on terrorism, but the drug causes hallucinations involving valkyries. Marky-Mark as Max Payne is busy looking for his wife and baby's killer and Mila is along to help.
All in all the movie was fairly entertaining and I'd give it a 6/10. If you like the video game, action movies and/or valkyries you might like it more.
I did see it at the movie theater at MBK (Mahboonkrong) in one of the digital theaters on the 7th floor. I was really impressed by the quality of the digital video and audio...super clear and crisp picture and super loud as it always is at movie theaters in Thailand. Movies in the digital theater are 150 baht instead of 120 baht, but well worth the extra charge for the amazing quality.

(Look out Marky-Mark! There's a valkyrie behind you! Use your huge dong from Boogie Nights to fight it!)

    Watched:

Welcome to the Jungle....so so.....actually more of a character piece than out and out gore (it's about cannibals, but ain't really).....not sure if this is a good thing though.

Transiberian.....Emily Watson, Woody Harrelson and Ben Kingsley.....pretty good thrillerish film, enjoyed it a lot.

Got Pineapple Express for tonight....cannot wait!!!

I'm not saying Mark "Marky Mark" Wahlberg = ...

I'm just saying that New Kids on the Block =

Max Payne was a decent enough movie...2 hours of escapism.
See it one of those digital theaters and or get yourself some of that mysterious blue elixor that causes valkyrie hallucinations and might enjoy it more! (sorry, but there isn't have a 'stoned' and/or 'valkyrie' smiley!)

We watched something last night with Robert De Niro and Al PAcino, i mean they weren't watching it with us, we were watching them. i can't rememeber what it was called now, it was pretty shit though, those guys don't make any decent films anymore, shame.
