Docu. stylee....as twisted as the title suggests but an eye-opener nonetheless.
here's a small portion of the imdb write-up:
"A documentary on kids who attend a summer camp hoping to become the next Billy Graham..."
It's really fuckin-fucked!
10/10
It had its moments....
imdb:...Young People Fucking" is a smart and fast-paced comedy that intertwines the stories of 5 couples over the course of one sexual encounter...
A decent one for the "couple-watch."
6/10
The plot-line pretty much says it all:
A former spy relies on his old skills to save his estranged daughter, who has been forced into the slave trade.
If you're in the mood for a movie-flick as opposed to a film then it won't hurt too much. Fairly predictable but delivers that Hollywood message quite well. Ransom, Proof of Life, and the Transporter kinda' come to mind.
5/10
Didn't like his portrayal of Morrison then rein?
Here is a forgotten slapstick that Val did way back. I remember gettin' into it as a kid.
His first motion pic, by the looks of it.
Top Secret! (1984)

Just watched Johnny Got His Gun a 1971 film that tells the story of an American soldier who is hurt in during a bomb raid whilst fighting in the trenches in France presumably during World War I. This really is a very moving film as Joe (who is Johnny?) finds out that he has become a prisoner inside his own body with no possible way out. Initially he has flash-backs to his life before the explosion but he ends up having dream-like hallucinations as the realisation of his condition makes his plight become increasingly desperate. A very good film with a couple of appearances by Donald Sutherland in his favourite 'mad as a hatter' character.

We kept waiting
Still nothing changes
It's a shame
watched Changeling - Angelina Jolie - Clint Eastwood made movie
plot - Angelina's child goes missing.. the movie takes some twists and turns in her pursuit to locate her son. Set in the 1930's.
Very good - long story, entertaining..
8/10
No Country for Old Men - I watched it again, first time I ever watched it was on a plane, this time I watched it uninterrupted - I was ok , I appreciate that it was well made - good characters in it... and I enjoyed it more than the first time I saw it. The ending as a bit open ended - you get into the characters, especially the serial killer - but you don't know what happens to them in the end to him... cop out of a ending - I realise that that is the point - coen brothers did the same with Burn after reading ending - characters just go on their way.. leaves you wanting more
6.5 out of 10
Children of Men
Amazing plot.... really roped me in... the ending was a bit sudden and could have been better. don't want to say more incase some people have not seen it. Worth a watch.
8.5 out of 10 until the last 10 minutes - back to 7/10
an opposite scenario I watched was a movie called the Escapist- low budget Brit film. the movie was trundling along - until the ending.. it improved the experience of watching it.. I'll give it a 6/10
The drunker I sit here, the longer I get.
The ending of No Country is actually the absolute opposite of cop-out. It stayed faithful to the book and didn't throw in one of those happy, pay off, closure endings where Tommy Lee offs Bardem after a ten minute gunfight before puttering some cheesy one liner.
there's a book? excuse my ignorance! I am not much of a reader..
I guess I felt a bit dudded.. not wanting a cheesy ending- I just wanted to know what ends up happening to the serial killer -where does he go next? how does he end up? .. i was left wanting more!
Burn after reading - just left openended.. characters go off doing there own thing.... what happens next?... i was left wanting more
I am not a Coen basher - Fargo is one of my favourite films
Yeah, by Cormac McCarthy. Very fucking good. The Road by him is excellent too. That's been made into a film for release this year too.
Inkheart (2008)
Brendan Fraser, Helen Mirren
A young girl discovers her father has an amazing talent to bring characters out of their books and must try to stop a freed villain from destroying them all, with the help of her father, her aunt, and a storybook's hero.
5/10. Along with horror, fantasy adventure is my most hated movie genre. I would rather live in Pattaya than sit through something like 'Harry Potter and the Tree of Shite"
I downloaded this more for my wife I suppose but I had to take a look at a film that contains not one, but four of my favorite actors - Helen Mirren, Jim Broadbent, Andy Serkis and the incredibly under-rated Jamie Foreman (you might remember his brilliant performance as Ray Winstone's best mate in 'Nil by Mouth')
What can I say? the movie does what it says on the tin, but it's just so not my kind of film. Little goblins running through dark wintry streets in search of magic potions. All that stuff can f*** right off as far as I'm concerned.
Andy Serkis was brilliant though. We're going to see a lot more of him I'm sure.
Inkheart looks terrible! The missus wanted to watch that and I refused point blank. She said that I didn't have any imagination. I agreed and told her that I couldn't manage to imagine a completely different plot, cast and visual effects for 2hrs.
I just saw Taken.... excellent movie!! I always forget what a great actor Liam Neesan is...![]()
Jim Broadbent is great by the way but I didn't see his face on the film poster at the time. Just in case any pedants are reading.
