Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
i watched 'Last King of Scotland' last night... good movie if you remember Idi Amin and you're not English (it tends to knock the English a bit). he was at first a likeable character until the world started finding out what he was up to (genocide.. 300,000 Ugandans).. and he did actually declare himself 'King of Scotland' but we refused him..
watched 'Carrie" tonight (the original).. bit dated but still a good movie..

I thought so too. Matt Damon: solidest actor of his generation?

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
i thought his performance was excellent; very under-stated, very blank, reflecting his diminishing morality.
-----
i really haven't seen him in much else tho to be honest...

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
^ They (yeah THEM!!!) reckon he's one of the most 'under rated' or shall we say 'not a big name' (compared to his mate Affleck...actually watched the true Hollywood story about them both) actor...but in good films with good performaces!

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Damon's original swan song was "Good Will Hunting" which he also wrote the screenplay for. You could say that's an underrated movie (I think it's a materpiece) but it did win a few Oscars.
He's also very good as Private Ryan in..well..you know. He was in the Rainmaker, Rounders. Also The Talented Mr. Ripley, the Oceans movies, and the Bourne movies, and of course The Departed, which I thought I was great in. "Fuckin' Kweeas!"
I gotta big up M Damon because he's a product of my high school - rock the fuck on!
Interesting fact about Matt:
He also went to Harvard.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
check out Good Will Hunting, you can see Affleck at his best too, before he was the big 'movie star'...Robin Williams got best supporting actor for his incredible turn as the psychoanalyist...and Matt got one for Screenwriting! Top film! great soundtrack too.
Filmed in my neighborhood to boot, check out the curly blonde behind him at the outsdie cafe..that's my 7th grade girlfriend Caitlin!

You know that!
Ish...getting there....but not compared to Affleck! Although I s'pose it's subjective (although he's not had the press Affleck has due to relationships etc.).

I personally don't think he is (mainly due to Pearl Harbour and Armageddon (sp?) and the J-Lo shit)....but definitely getting there.

Rocky with maths....not all that IMO!!!
Ripley was excellent though!!! I liked him in Dogma though!
I don't know there's something about him that's not overly memorable (which I s'pose is a good thing 'cos you're not like 'Matt Damon playing so and so, rather you accept him as the character). Both him and Affleck are mates with Kevin Smith!
Also he's supposed to be wicked in Courage Under Fire (and lost a lot of weight for the role).
The Bourne films are pretty good as well!
Did breakdancing to earn extra money....and actually took the harder route to acting than Ben Affleck did....so I get respect for old Damon! I reckon he'll be around for a long time.
