    PROMETHEUS

Really, Tomcat has already said what I was going to say, including the sense of deju vu. If you saw the original Alien film and wouldn't mind seeing yet another bland rehash then this is definitely for you. So many of the old ideas are repeated (including the talking decapitated android) that Ridley Scott is becoming the screen version of Jeffrey Archer.

The storyline is pap and Mr. Scott knows it. This time we are treated to an explanation of who Prometheus was whereas with Alien those who didn't realise the Nostromo connection are probably still in the dark. There are so many holes in this film it becomes almost a comedy. What on Earth is a research spaceship doing with a flamethrower on board? How can undisciplined idiots get these jobs?

6/10 and I won't be buying the DVD.

I'm really glad I decided to give Prometeus a miss. So much crap coming out of Hollywood.

I just saw Prometheus and I don't know what to think of this movie. I purposely avoided the 3d version cuz it hurts my eyes, so I could enjoy the movie more.... or so I thought.

I didn't like how little backstory there was. 2 minute intro and then straight to the spaceship. The scene where the female scientist tries to get the alien out was pretty good. No, the movie is not a garbage. What else are you going to watch?

    a solid 7 out of 10

... was ridiculous, but maybe I shouldn't be expecting things to be believable in a sci-fi movie.

This is why I go to movies despite bad reviews, however, because everyone's taste is different.

...that's precisely what makes a sci-fi movie good: a believable story line...Alien was such a success because it was plausible (if unlikely). Prometheus is a disappointment for all the reasons previously listed here...

I still do. Don't want Uncle Sam suing me for a trillion Dollars in the hope of paying down the debt.

Agree that Prometheus looked great and the 3D was very well done to give depth rather than gimmicks. Naomi Rapace is also great, as is Michael Fassbinder. But the story is clunky and full of improbabilities. With a script with more mystery and plausability it could have been great, but instead its merely good. 7/10
Incidentally, the wife thought it was crap.
If 6 of the 7 dwarves were not Happy, does that prove that dwarves are generally an unhappy lot?

So long as it doesn't mean they hold on dogmatically to policies that aren't working just for the sake of it.
