I saw Argo. Directed by and starring Ben Affleck. It's about the Iranian hostage situation during the Carter administration. Supporting roles for Alan Arkin, John Goodman and Bryan Cranston. Really well done, good movie. Thumbs up. I heard it's a Best Picture contender. Haven't seen much of what's been on offer in 2012, but since I haven't heard of many great films this year, I would not be shocked if Argo took home a few awards.

They were excellent...Affleck is the real deal. The Academy totally snubbed The Town in 2010, another really well done film he directed and starred in. I think they'll make up for it this year.

    Das Boot - 210 minute Director's cut.

Saw it in English with the English subtitles on and got a slightly different movie. Still the same story but the captain's language in the subtitles is considerably "earthier" from what he is actually saying.

"you were initiated" becomes "they pissed on you"
