Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Saw Stephen King's - The Mist Saturday, certainly not The Shining but not bad, Dead Can Dance is in the soundtrack, and very approriately for what was taking place while their song was playing....it would fcuk anyone up fer sure.
That's all I'll say so as not to spoil it.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Elementary Particles
German film about two half brothers from an absent hippie mother. One is a teacher (who exposes himself in the classroom at one point) and the other is a scientific genius. Some wild scenes in german sex clubs, and from campground/meditation retreat for singles. Teacher ends up in the asylum. Scientist ends up with his childhood love.
Interesting film, will leave you thinking for a few days.

Thanks mate... I'm always looking for little nuggets to read... besides the mass produced and publicized pop culture 'literature'.

Watched
Charlotte's Web - faithful to the book which I remember reading as a child. A very nice kids tale but not overly exiting. My boy has watched it twice and shelved it.
Shooter - Mark Wahlberg doing a Ramoesque piece involving nameless government agencies and sniper rifles. Well paced, well filmed, well acted, normal action film fare.

Saw The Golden Compass yesterday. Surprised to find it was actually quite good. Lots of cool ideas in the children's fantasy world they create. Good quick pace to it. Not too overboard with the CGI. Great characters, real and fantasy. Nicole Kidman is watchable (for once) and does her evil stepmpther/witch type of role well. Thumbs up.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
I watched Mr. Brooks last night. It was a twisted psychological thriller. Kevin Costner plays Mr. Brooks who wins an award for man of the year, but is a sadistic killer which no one is aware of. Demi moore plays the cop who is on the hunt for the thumbprint killer.
Pretty good story. Kevin Costner plays a family man, but underneath it all he kills women for pleasure. It is interesting that there was a guy who they showed talking to him about killing, but he wasn't real. You get to see inside the mind of a killer.
