fell asleep to that this afternoon, (had seen it before), but.....he killed a couple in the ensuing scene and Demi's character remarks on how he typically displays couples' bodies or had in the past....so methinks his MO was couples rather than women.

^Yeah, it was couples generally, but he did go and kill a student at his daughter's school. We never found out whether that was a male or female, not that it mattered much. It was as a strange movie, but intriguing. I guess you didnt' like it?

Just watched 3:10 to Yuma. Excellent first half only to be horribly let down by the cheeseball by-the-numbers Hollywood fiddling near the end. What the hell were they thinking, making Russell Crowe's character come to the decision he did? Retarded!

Casino Royale - The Bond legacy is restored, an excellent flick.
The Inside Man - An even better film that I thought I was not going to like given that its director is Spike Lee.

Can't be too careful. There's something growing in the staffroom sink. I suspect shoggoths.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
I also felt sleepy during Mr Brooks but it seemed ok.
I liked Eastern Promises - seedy Russian gangsters in London, very violent. Naomi Watts and Viggo Mortensen as good as ever.
Also liked American Gangster. The standard formula of corrupt cops mixing it up with ruthless criminals, but I never tire of this stuff. Good escapism.
Brick Lane - enjoyed it, but not as much as I'd hoped. Claustrophic, with most of the 'action' inside a small council flat and a few flashbacks to Bangladesh. Good performances though.
This is England - don't bother with this one.

History of violence is great James - go get it. Quite strange but Strider does a great job of portraying his character.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
American Gangster - alright cops and robbers drama.
Perfume - excellent but complicated tale that had me trapped for the duration.
Death Proof - biggest piece of self indulgent shit I have ever seen. 100 times worse than Kill Bill 1 and 2. Tarantino is a one trick pony that has lost it.

Charlie Wilsons War - Good film. worth a watch. may do the american public some good to know how things got to where they are now in Afghanastan. the book "ghost wars" would help as well.
