Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?

Have done a couple of classics this week:

For Whom the Bell Tolls: 19-year-old Ingrid Bergman...beautiful, but who the hell did literal translation of Spanish to English to make them appear to be speaking Spanish? Shite dialogue.

Waterloo Bridge: Vivien Leigh and Robert Taylor. Classic period flick about 'fallen women', was quite surprised in that day and age that it had the ending it did. Well done.

Roman Holiday: Introducing Audrey Hepburn. I'd never seen this flick...outstanding, funny, a bit predictable at times but at the end I said, "Excellent, funny film" with Gregory Peck and a buff Eddie Albert.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?

^ Haven't see any of those, Mister Stretch, but I did see a recent movie that was pretty good with Sean Connery and Richard Gere. It was called "First Knight." Was a pretty good movie about a king (Connery) who a corrupt prince is trying to overthrow, and the only guy who can save his wife is Gere, who fights the corrupt prince but falls in love with Connery's wife, the queen. Good stuff.

Just saw Hill has eyes II. I think it's okay, did remind me of Alian III theme, putting military troops to solve the things. All and all is okay but I haven't seen the orignal so that might be worth watching.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?

I've been busy downloading, and watching, some of the best of 2007

Noise: An ill copper stuck doing 'light duties' in a roadside police caravan, after a shooter goes on a rampage. Rated as one of the best Aussie films of this year. Dark. 7/10

Rescue Dawn: Based on the true story of a German born American shot down over Laos during the Vietnam War, his capture, and his eventual escape to Thailand. 8/10

In the coming days I'll be watching:

The Last King of Scotland
Michael Clayton
Ratatouille
The Bourne Ultimatum
Half Nelson
Knocked Up

No Country for Old Men - I find the Coen Brothers to be more than a tad over-rated, but this one lives up to the hype. Great performances, creepy, thrilling...Oscar bait for sure.

if you like rescue dawn there is a great documentary about the whole thing called "dieter learns to fly" way better than the movie.

The original sequel or the original original? I enjoyed both of the remakes, particularly the first.

Original original, I don't really like the first one as it's far too similar to Wrong Turn.

Ditto, just watched it last nite and and found it very funny. Found a full DVD copy in my local market. There's a deleted scene, "bareback mountain," that's funny as hell.
