Tai Pan - as in the James Clavell novel? When was that made grassy?

That movie was made years and years ago...Richard Chamberlin's in it, isn't he? Or was that Shogun? I think one followed the other pretty closely.

Richard C's Shogun - Tai Pan is Clavell too - I prefer it to Shogun - not made sooo long ago - 80s maybe
TP is the beginning of Hong Kong one - 1839 - Aussie actor playing a Scotsman (Struan) - forget his name - Robert Ryan?

I saw The Godfather I and II last night and really like them. I had seen this when I was a student but just a cut when the guy woke up with the head of his horse. His offer that he can't refuse.

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
Ben A has his points - what was that gangster one he did with Jennifer Lopez and Al Pacino? Al P made me laugh in that, frequently does in fact

No Country for Old Men.
a good flick...not great. fantastic first hour or so but gradually becomes disjointed towards the end. have to confess i couldn't understand some of the dialogue so might have to watch it again in the future. flashes of the Cohen black humour they are renowned for.
7.5/10

Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
^ watched it last night...pretty much the same opinion, good not great but that might have something to do with the hype around it. I sort of nodded off a bit during the last monologue from the sheriff and then it suddenly ended.
The hollywood pimps/whores must be busting to make a sequel....hitman fixes his broken arm, man with the money didn't die (did he?) etc etc.....
I'll give it an 8.5 (the extra 0.5 because I'll be able to watch it more than once).
Almost finished DL'ing "Lust, Caution" which also has very good reviews and Ang Lee usually makes good movies. Torrents are great!

So, it was good then? Remember I told you I read the book and I want to see the movie. Can I get it from you when I'm in BKK?
