    The Sopranos

Only 3 episodes left if you keep up with this series. It's getting really intense now and people are dropping like flies.

In the last ep Tony was in a car accident with Chris Multasante who, back on the dope, drove off the road into a tree. Chris didn't have his seat belt on and was badly injured. He might not have made it anyways but Tony decided to make sure of it and suffocated him. I sure didn't see that coming.

These last few episodes should be pretty interesting.

Kudos to HBO for ending the series at the top of it's game instead of dragging it out too far to milk it for everything they could get out of it.

    Re: The Sopranos

Do you think Tony will whack out the new NY boss, can't remember his name, who is still bitter over his cousin or nephew being killed by someone in Tony's family? There's tension between them now over the dumping of asbestos at the dump that Tony used to run and the NY boss is trying to squeeze Tony for more than he wants to pay.

I predict a lot of the heavy hitters don't make it to the last episode. I thought Tony was going to snuff out Paulie a couple of eps back, he was definitely thinking about it.

Yea I think Phil's head may roll before it's over, not sure who is next in line after him in the NY family.

I have all the episodes aired from the second half of season 6 (13 - 19) stored on my hard drive. There was a big gap in the middle of this season, it's more like there was a mini-season 6 last year and now a mini-season 7. I heard this happened because of disputes about the number of episodes the actors were contracted for so HBO had to extend this season instead of ending it last year. If you don't have the bandwidth to grab the episodes from Bit Torrent I could burn them to a DVD for ya.

    Caution spoiler follows:

How about that last episode eh? I guess I saw AJ's suicide attempt coming so that wasn't a big surprise, though it was dramatic. Also figured that tensions with Phil's NY family would reach critical mass. I think war with them could bring Tony's enterprise crumbling down although war seems inevitable at this point. I wonder if there will be any follow through on the plot where Tony is informing the feds about the 2 Muslim guys? It seems like all the Soprano's are seeing psychiatrists now. I particularly liked the discussion between Tony's shrink and her colleague Elliot that she sees. He tells her about studies that point to talk therapy being counter-productive for sociopaths and that they actually use it to hone their skills on the therapist.

It's going to be an interesting end of series climax. I can't decide if it will be godfather style, everybody dies, or more psychological drama as the therapist discussions have been a central theme for the whole series. I'm leaning towards the latter.
    I can hardly wait!

A Tony Soprano or Michael Corleone board smiley would be fun :mafioso:

Maybe the leading dude of the Sopranos will have time now to make movies out of those Jake Needham novels. Supposedly he agreed/wanted to do it a few years back.

    Re: The Sopranos

It took me long enough to finish the 6th season and the final episode. WTF?? I was really let down by that ending. I didn't really want to see Tony die, but imo there aren't many other options. Him going to prision would've just created more loose ends. All-in-all, I'm not to happy with the ending.

    Re: The Sopranos

Very interesting. I will watch this series again next time I take ill or something, as in every episode I knew there was more to it than at first meets the eye. This in the comments to that analysis is a great angle.

it was clear to me (as to many others) for years that david chase despised most of his fans, which was appropriate. here he is, the modern equivalent of michaelangelo on his back painting the sistine chapel ceiling (yes, i’m serious), and as thanks he gets hordes of idiots begging him for more whackings, oblivious to the meaning of what was going on. my initial reaction to the final scene was that it was chase whacking his cretinous fan base (well…my first reaction was that my dvr switched over to another program 10 seconds too soon).
