Thought about putting this in the Resource subforum, as I'm sure some of you could use it as such. I'll leave it to a mod to decide whether to move it there or not.

This site has full length documentaries from all over the world for free viewing.

At freedocumentaries.org we strongly believe that in order to have a true democracy, there has to be a free flow of easily accessible information. Unfortunately, many important perspectives, opinions, and facts never make it to our televisions or cinemas (you can watch movies in our media category if you want to know why).

For this reason we decided to start freedocumentaries.org, a site where anyone with an internet connection can watch a movie to educate themselves or simply explore another perspective whenever they please. These movies aren't just for education but are also for entertainment.

As a secondary objective freedocumentaries.org allows independent filmmakers to have their message heard by viewers that they may not normally reach.

When I watch The History Channel, there are always a ton of names in the credits. I think I'll check their website out again.

Excellent site. Thanks. Have been meaning to rewatch Power Of Nightmares for a few months now. Brilliant documentary that. A few on there that I've not had the pleasure.

I've just noticed they have Century Of Self. That was an excellent fucking show. It's about the history of consumerism and it's very elucidating.

"The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear" consists of three one-hour films, consisting mostly of a montage of archive footage with Curtis's narration.
The films compare the rise of the American Neo-Conservative movement and the radical Islamist movement, making comparisons on their origins and suggesting a strong connection between the two. More controversially, it argues that the threat of radical Islamism as a massive, sinister organized force of destruction, specifically in the form of al-Qaeda, is in fact a myth perpetrated by politicians in many countries — and particularly American Neo-Conservatives — in an attempt to unite and inspire their people following the failure of earlier, more utopian ideologies.

Good site eso. A lot of fringe films that don't see the light of day because of their supposed lack of credibility. Too bad this site doesn't offer more balance, but I guess that's not really the purpose behind it.
