Thread: Inappropriate Old TV Shows

Recent events have reminded me of how our cultures have changed over the last 40 to 50 years especially in the realm of television. What was once considered prime time fare, high drama or riotous comedy would now never see the screen and would instead only bring law suits and outrage from a PC public and government.

Can you think of any other shows that once were top of the heap but now would be relegated to an obscure pay for view cable channel at 2am in the morning.

All in the Family, Archy Bunker must have broken every PC notion currently on the books.

Things have changed and not for the better in my opinion, with respect this subject.

The old ones are the best. Love thy Neighbour was great, I would have thought that the PC crowd would approve as the white man always came off worst!

I think the PC Nazis would label Fawlty Towers as 'degenerate art' owing to the mad major's references to 'niggers' and 'wogs'. I am not sure the Germans are still viewed as fair game; I'll have to check to latest PC laws.

Most white folks stroll around blissfully unaware of, or unwilling to think about, derogatory language and racist attitudes because it doesn't affect them.
