I just saw 30 Days of Night yesterday for the second time and I have to say that could be one of the greatest vampire movies ever made. No new age Blade nonsense. Just good ole' vampires killin' mothafukas.
And yours?

Older film about a group of vampires traveling across the USA in a Winnebago wantonly harvesting small towns until one of the girls makes a vampire of a clean cut true breed country cowboy.
We must not confuse statistical probability with some transcendental and utterly compelling force.
I fucking love Near Dark.
there aren't any are there ?
Once is great.
Twice is too much.

I watched 'Light the Right One In' the other day. Swedish coming-of-age/vampire movie. Was pretty good, worth a watch.

My Thai gf had been watching something on Thai TV.
She's into vampire films and was raving about a US TV series called 'True Blood'.
Managed to pick up a torrent on it but, coming in at 20 1 hour episodes, it took an age to download.
I think she got through half of the episodes in one sitting!
Another she loved was Twilight because the lead player was a 'hansum mannn'.
While Near Dark is probably my favourite I'd have to say that Fright Night for me is the best non-revisionist vampire film. Straight up, top draw horror/comedy film. The sequel wasn't too shabby either.
Not sure you could clasify this as a vampire movie, but 'Suspiria' is fucking awesome. great soundtrack by Goblin.

'After the game, the king and the pawn go into the same box'
Fright Night scared the SHIT out of me when I was a kid.
Twilight was OK until they started playing vampire baseball. They lost me after that.
I have to say though, even though I absolutely hated Keanu Reeves in it, I should give Gary Oldman an honorable mention for his portrayal of Count Dracula in Dracula He freeked me out when it came out.
Also, I almost forgot, one of the most imaginative vampire movies ever made Shadow of the Vampire Willem Dafoe gives an absolutely creepy performance as Nosferatu.
If you haven't seen this movie, you have to see it.

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned these two classics.
