    Wolverine:X-Men Origins vs Watchmen

I just saw Wolverine:X-Men Origins. I really enjoyed the movie. They put all their budget in the right places. You care about the characters. It was funny and entertaining. It is one of the best prequals, if not the best prequal I have seen. If you watch this movie and then watch the first X-Men movie you'd feel like you are watching a 4 hour movie. It blends so well.

I enjoyed it much more than Watchmen. A movie about a bunch of losers that you don't care about, whose actions matter jack shit in the end. The only good part about Watchmen was the girl getting fooked inside the Wall-E spaceship.

I thought X-Men 3 went a bit over the top and I am glad the frachise is back like this. Very good.

Really? I've heard nothing but bad things about this. Might check it out. Although you did say that you thought X3 went a bit over the top. X3 was a travesty against cinema.

I watched it today as was asked to go by my girlfriend. It's quite dull really and doesn't really seem to resonate in any way. I remember parts of the X-men films. If your a fan go see it, if not don't bother. It's got some good SFX and reads slightly better for me than the X-men films. It's obviously not going to be hailed as a cinematic masterpiece and they can't even be bothered to age the characters. Wolverine's character doesn't age OK fair enough but neither do any of the other mutants! or anybody else for that matter.
I'm not a big fan of X-men, but Wolverine does seem like the best character. Just hope there's not a spin off with that baldy one in the wheelchair, that would be well boring.

    Re: Wolverine:X-Men Origins vs Watchmen

It's not a masterpiece for sure, but a better time at the cinema than Watchmen.
We didn't have anyone from the first fims other than Wolverine, and when Prof. X shows up at the end, he looks much younger.

If anyone was critizising it on the net it was probably fan boys who wanted to see people running around in XMAN suits and flying in their spaceship.
Basically, its a story about 2 brothers and ot focuses on the experiments being done by the Military in that underground bunker we see on XMEN 2.
It is a lower budget film, smaller in scope, but done very well.
Next it will be: Terminator Salvation.

They are both dire. Watchmen is a pompous overlong snoozefest and Wolverine is a confsed mess of mish-mashed storylines and a few standard fight scenes.

I loved both movies. I was pleasantly suprised at how good The Watchmen turned out to be.

Both were very entertaining, and kept me wanting to know more. Good stuff.
