Mad Max 4: Fury Road gets green light; Sam Worthington tipped to star | Movies | News.com.au
THE original Mad Max put the Australian film industry on the map and launched the career of one of our most recognised actors, Mel Gibson.
Thirty years on and Mad Max 4: Fury Road is about to restart the local movie industry, being filmed entirely in Sydney and Outback NSW.
The Daily Telegraph reports that work on the film will start immediately, injecting tens of millions of dollars into the economy and creating more than 500 jobs.
There has been no confirmation yet of who will play the role of the Road Warrior but rumours abound it will be Australian Terminator: Salvation star Sam Worthington, with Charlize Theron to co-star.
Will the road warrior survive a sequel?

We could all sit outside on banana lounges discussing the best way to rebuild a 4WD transmission and agree, through shared stories of conquests supporting our assertions, that there is no basis to the proposition that those least assured of their persuasions are the first to condemn others for theirs.
It died a horrible death when Tina Turner showed up in her chainmail mumu.
Thunderdome was a mess.

The real star of Mad Max.
I have great memories of the original Mad Max as I was working in a drive-in movie theater and we were one of the first drive-ins to get the movie. I still remember doing the marquee the night before thinking "what the hell is Mad Max". It was the feature movie so it was the second show that night. My drive-in was known locally as party central but when Mad Max started you could have heard a pin drop and it had me from the first scene.

This was the real star of Road Warrior

Tina Tina Tina, why did you do that?
The rest of the movie wasn't all that bad. The new cast sounds choice to me.
I didn't think the first one was that great....and I'm pretty sure the remake will be a fucken disaster.
Mad Max Hardcore sounds a better choice.
The first film was a low budget gem. The Road Warrior was a classic. The third a bit of a mess but fun nonetheless. The fourth will star Sam Worthington, because he's Australian and the current flavour of the moment. It will be a sanitized cross between the first three films, 2 Fast 2 Furious, An Inconvenient Truth and A High School Musical.
That's what I'm afraid will happen with it.
i didn't like these movies at all
