There are few problems in life that cannot be solved with toast.
One of them, however, is opening a can of corned beef with that stupid key. This cannot easily be done at the best of times, and toast is of surprisingly little use in resolving the issue.
I think there are bootleg copies floating around Bangkok art scene, I mean I could ask a friend of a friend as it were but I make no promises. I saw "Blissfully Yours" at the movies with the wife (forget where) and Alliance Francaise(sp?) screened "Tropical Malady" in protest of it's censoring. I'm guessing places like that might be doing a retropective but it's hard to say when or where.
Makes me proud 2 b Thai

As animism and ghost beliefs are still very active in many Thais lives,
many of those voting would have no idea of this.
I would think?
GWW no idea what you mean but to paraphrase Tim Burton, it was a movie that in these times of global media that has westernized, hollywoodised so much, this was a movie that was truly different, from a different place. Benicio Del Toro simply stated that he liked the bit where the monk went to the Karaoke bar.

I know what you mean I was tearing up when I saw the acceptance.

"vast and black. the thing that was poised, like a crow over the moon. round and smooth. cannon balls. things that have fallen from the sky to this earth. our slippery brains. things like cannon balls have fallen, in storms, upon this earth. like cannon balls are things that, in storms, have fallen to this earth. showers of blood. showers of blood. showers of blood. " c.f.

'mangpon'.
A really good review here
You can buy the Tropical Mandalay DVD here for around 70 baht, doesn't have subtitles though. i can't find a torrent of it. No doubt the new film will be available here however the directors criticism of Thai censorship probably won't do him any favors.
You can get what you need here, usually hard-subbed, sometimes not.
