    Movies that start well

    but turn out shit.

Well, this one comes to mind. Starts off intriguing then turns into action packed Michael Bay blast fest.

Saving Private Ryan. That's a movie starter.

Fucking Ryan. They should have put a bullet in his head so the movie don't suck.

All right, on to the next one.

This movie has one of the best opening credits. The music by Harold Faltermeyer (of Axel F fame) is just amazing. As a kid I used to be obsessed with 80's soundtracks and this still sounds really, really good. RIP Tony Scott.... the rest of the movie was crap.

    Contagion.

Average reviews, but I was thinking 'this is really good' after 30 minutes.

At the end I thought...'that was shit'.

Any 'romantic comedy'. Most are shit from the start, but many go off the boil when the romance kicks in. Examples? Any Ricky Gervais' movie, Something about Mary, Me, Myself and Irene, Austin Powers, The Dictator....etc.

Gotta agree with 'Saving Private Ryan'. Awesome first 30 minutes and after that...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Funnily enough I was just thinking about this movie today, in relation to game of thrones. The very end of the 2nd season of game of thrones sets it up so that next season is going to be all about dragons and zombies. Fine if they do it well, but it put my in mind of dusk til dawn. The first half of the movie was all deep character building, plot development and basically really good. Then, Tarrentino exit stage left, vampires enter stage right and it all goes to shit.
