After more than a decade here in Thailand, I'm bored with Thais asking -
"Why do Farang like the ugliest and worst women Thailand has to offer?"
Like it or not, us Farangs are stereotyped as having the worst taste in Thai women. Just mention the likes of "I know this Farang down the street and his dark-skinned ugly wife,.....well she is just so...." and you'll soon have your Thai friends in hysterics.
Farangs and their choice of wife is a cheap joke within Thai society. Perhaps your Thai isn't good enough to read newspaper or magazine reports or watch TV to realize just how much of a joke Thais have at the expense of the Farang.
It gets even worse when Thais brought up abroad also get into this cheap joke.
Recently I heard someone say - "I feel it sad that Farangs only get the leftovers"
In the eyes of Thai society, he dared to say exactly what most Thai folks feel about Farangs.
The only reason that....say dark-skinned Isarn girls with perhaps a couple of kids already like Farangs, is because, they can't find a new Thai partner.
This is not strictly my opinion, but Thais in general.
Any opinions?

The worst job in Thailand must be the man who has to sit down with a blue marker pen and mark a number two on the two-baht coins to stop people thinking they are one-baht coins.
That works both ways then! They take the piss out of us, we take the piss out of them! It will never change, however most Thais know that we have so many advantages. We buy a plane ticket and fly anywhere in the world..... Most of them cannot do that without going through the hassle of running to the embassies and "proving" that they're not poor. Deep down inside they know that our lives are a lot easier and less complicated then theirs. They know that they live in a country that is not yet developed, so guess who laughs hardest. Is their any government in the West that takes the Thai government serious?Nope! Even in their national sport we beat them, the world champion thai boxing is not Thai! And I can keep on giving examples........ So let them, the poor
souls, they don't know any better.

Other farangs I know are married to successful Chinese-Thai business women.
It's only the leftovers who go for the leftovers. And sure, there are plenty of farang "leftovers" hanging around Thailand. I must admit I cridge at some of the couplings I see around town.
If you live your life like a tabloid rag, you only notice ugly things. So you see them.
My GF is southern Thai, uni grad with a good job. When we are out she gets stared at by Thai and farang alike.
