"Departed" Jack Nicholson stinks it up for Scorsese

Anyone saw "The Departed"? It was an OK movie. I think the main flaw was that Jack and Alec were miscast. Alec had no idea what to do with his character. Actually, Alec was doing the same character in "Along Came Polly". There was too much Jack in Jack. He didn't know what to do, so he went back to his tricks. When he did that line about "having a rat" and started acting like a rat, I had enough of him. I didn't believe Jack for a second in that role and that ruined the movie for me. I think anyone from the "Sopranos" would have done a much better job.

That's a shame to hear jack N and Alec B are two of my favourite actors.

Dull movie, trying to create a complex twist out of something quite straightforward, and trying to entertain by showing bullet shots followed by blood spattered on walls.

Good enough movie, bad ending. The US version didnt reach the Hong Kong original (Infernal Affairs) to the socks...

And why is Scorsese so obsessed with blood?

Scorsese is over rated...he hasn't done a good film since Casino and that was just Good Fellas part two...

    The 'Departed' was retarded!

I love Jack. He is good even in a shitty movie like this.

I think the problem with this movie is that you have so many great actors on the same screen, it's overkill.

I had a hunch that it was going to suck and I was right.

Scorcese should either retire or pursue another genre. He proved himself with some great mob movies in the past as we all know - he is a great director no doubt about it. He might as well quit while he is ahead. Its kind of like Jerry Seinfeld throwing in the towel. He was supposed to do another season but decided not to - all the seasons were great, if he put out a shitty one that would hurt his reputation.
