Mysteries of life and living in Thailand

Questions

If socialism is so great, why are there hundreds of thousands of Cubans living in Florida but no Floridians living in Cuba?

If communism created a workers paradise, why was the Berlin Wall built to prevent workers from leaving and not to prevent the flood of workers clamoring to get into the paradise?

If living in Thailand and teaching sucks so bad, why do so many of us do it?

Why is it that teachers who complain the loudest about the greediness of school owners are the same teachers who complain the loudest about how low their own salaries are and about being asked to contribute anything beyond teaching the basic hours?

Why does Chomsky, and other lovers of authoritarianism, live in free and capitalist societies instead of living where their ideas are reality?

Why do teachers who never bother with creating a lesson plan complain about lazy students?

Why do English teachers who can not speak a foreign language complain about the foreign language skills of their students?

Why do left wing liberals fight so hard for the rights they believe in while fighting equally hard to deny others of the rights the others cherish?

Why do right wing nutcases fight so hard for the rights they believe in while fighting equally hard to deny others of the rights the others cherish?

Why do people claim posting on ajarn.com is a waste of time while posting here?

Why do people complain about their salaries while not bothering to gain any special skills anyone is interested in paying for?

Why do military dictatorships always include either the word democratic or democracy in the military dictatorship's organizational title?

Why do people claim to hate working with Thais live and work in Thailand?

Why do some posters think America and Europe should clamp down on immigration while also posting about how evil Thailand is for imposing any rules at all on immigration and work permits?

Why do some people claim Thai or others are racist while spouting their own brand of white supremacy rhetoric out of the other side of their mouths?

Re: Mysteries of life and living in Thailand

Why has JD think that because he has devoted countless hours posting silly dribble on this site he has earned the right to decide who can post on here and who can not?

"Why Ask Why?"

Why not ask why?

Why questions can be quite thought provoking, I know that is not usually encouraged here on this site for 'educators" but still, who knows, maybe...

Indeed, I spend hours a day thinking about these questions while me mum heats up me oatmeal and sits next to me darning me socks.

The living part is fine. It's just at times the teaching sucks.

You answered your own question. The greediness of school owners.

Probably the same reason that teachers who always create a lesson plan complain about lazy students. Because they're lazy.

Because English is the language of international business. Thai isn't.

Same reason that North Korea has the words 'Democratic' and 'Peoples' in it's name.

Because Thais are okay on a superficial level. It's when you get to know them that the problems begin.

Because the west has things to offer the rest of the world. Pakistani and Bangladeshi immigrants to the UK don't.

Because it's true. In both cases.

El Tel

Now I understand.

Gee, you must be a 'real' teacher, gosh you are so brillant. No wonder all Thai and non-teflers think so much of the type of person who goes into english teaching when there are people like you around to set the example.
-----
Another couple of questions

Why does JD feel so threatened by my postings?

Why do people also feel the need to tear down someone more successful or more educated or more knowledgable?
