Immigration checks on University teachers

I heard that other day that the Immigration are now doing random checks on
Farang English university teachers for fake documents.
I haven't seen anything mentioned about this on the ajarn forum or in
the newspapers.
Does anyone out there know about this situation ?

Not so fast jimbo.

I've got a brother-in-law, whose next door neighbour is the maid of one of the top Immigration officials and we now have it, on good authority, that the net has been widened.

There will be raids this weekend on ECC, Siam Computers and the head office of Berlitz.

The reason things have been doing so bad in the south is because they've brought back over 5,000 armed troops for the raids and they've been in constant training since October.

Inlingua and Wall Street teachers are OK. Both paid the tea money

Get out now if you're bent, they have a shoot to kill policy on escapees.

I think PC's post may be a wind - up because if Inlingua is safe, ECC would be as they are owned by the same person.

Also they would want more then 5000 police to chase hardened criminals like foreign teachers with fake degrees. If you don't believe me ask SJCG.

I just hope you are one of the few credentialled teachers here in Thailand BOF.

By the end of this month, mark my words, the prison will be overflowing with bogus teachers and the brave souls such as myself, soi7girl and others have warned all and sundry, if you have no degree, get out now before you face 3 months in the slammer and have your passport black-listed.

As for Inlingua and ECC. THey are owned by the same person but each ECC is indepnedently franchised. It's up to them topay the tea money.

You'll half - right PC but if it's Tea Money it must be paid between 2;00 pm and 5 pm or 11:00 pm - 11 am otherwise they have to pay beer or (If their unlucky) JW Black money.

Actually they hit government schools last week in the Rangsit/Nonthaburi area. Not only looking for work permits but also for police clearance. That was a bit odd I thought as those who still have work permits, would not have the police clearance as that is new.

Looking for police clearance forms this early in the game would be a little strange. BTW, was it Immigration that was involved? Were these public P and M schools?

I can vouch that my school in Bangbuathong Nonthaburi was 'visited' by the boys in brown last week. We teachers didn't come into contact with them. I think they were here to collect information on the current staff, copies of documents, number of staff on licences and work permits. Our admin wasn't too concerned by their visit, but a few of the teachers were.

I heard a rumour that imi now want to see prrof of native speakerness.

Evidence required;

1. DNA test proving that you are at least 95% native speaker

2. Signed (in triplicate) copies of your parents and grandparents birth certs showing that they were native speakers

3. HIV and STD tests

4. A letter from your mother stating you were a "good boy/girl"

5. Signed statements from at least 3 girlfriends (native speakers) that you are not a desperado after the Thai tottie

6. Graduation pictures to prove you graduated

7. Police checks from EVERY country in the world

8. Signed statement from your headmaster from your last High School saying you were "a briiliant student"

9. Urine/blood samples for drug tests

10. Letter from embassy stating "the local embassy will take full responsbillity for any problems, errors or inaccuracies with infomation supplied"

Let them deal with personel at my uni. Then they can arrest some of those lazy asshole and put them in the clink. My contract says all contract for both visa and WP is to be done by the uni at their cost. Why the hell should I worry.
