    The 'e' question was a typical case of sucking up to the frogs.

    The Brits spell it 'concord' while the French spell it 'concorde'.

    The frogs were having a bit of a spat about it and wanted the French spelling.

    Eventually, Benn decided that the 'e' on the end would stand for 'entente cordiale'.

    They've been shafting us ever since.

    I'm going to buy him a mobile soon which will speed things up for future spelling things etc.

    Off topic but if you had a kid and locked him in an attic and never spoke to him etc....would he speak the language of the Angels?

    If a poster is banned under one nik, but not under another...is that poster really banned?

    "I always get love from the homies" that line from training day was uttered by the character named Smiley...no less. Wickedly coincidental.

    let's say you are traveling away from me on a very fast craft at the speed of light. somebody at the back of your craft flashes on an arc light, aimed directly at me, the point of origin. my guess is that if you are flying away from me at the speed of light, i would see nothing of you, and even less of your arc lamp

    I'm an idiot. but if there is light it must travel at it's designated speed. So if my craft is traveling away from you at the speed of light and I produce light directed back at you it would just take twice as long to reach your visual cortex. But the question remains...if no one sees the light is it really light?

    Ok, for example...light travels at a constant speed. For simplificationary purposes lets say it 100kph. So I'm traveling at 100kph away from you and at one point I switch on a light. There it starts it's journey back to you at 100kph, but as soon as I turn one the light, because I'm traveling at light speed, the point of origin of my light would be twice as far from you. Thereby, traveling at 100 kph back to you it would need to cover twice the distance so take twice as long.

    Hmnnn

    to answer number 1, simply use the proportionate value of known space as the remaining percentage in the equation:

    dark/known space
    _______________ = Speed of dark
    light/measuring point

    to answer number 2, again, simply quantify the matter first.

    the parameters of the listening area are equal to its division by its radius. In other words, the distance in which sound travelled through the water to the listening device, is equal to the amount of measureable quiet from the point of reception back to the emission point in the water.

    emission------->reception (distance is relative)
    emission<-------reception (time is relative)

    ^because, it's elementary my dear Watson, refracted light is still light, and is included in that part of the equation. The disapation is a measureable magnitude.

    But isn't the speed of light only constant in a vacuum ?
