I guess that is why Benny Hill, Mr. Bean and the Office were such big hits in the US! Though, I have to say, Steve Carroll missed the humour of 'The Office' by a country mile

Although the Office was originally a BBC hit, the NBC version is way more funny. Interesting enough Rick Gervais who co-wrote the BBC version of the Office, said he "can't stand watching tv in his own country anymore" When I say British humor, I think of Eddie Izzard, or Frankie Boyle. Imo, the humor seems to be really outdated. Even all my Brit friends admit that it is dry.

    And why is Ali nasty?
    Ask Joe Frazier

    Matt Hughes
Yea, pound for pound, I would say top five, certainly not the best though.

Michael Jordan is more known across the globe
The American 'globe', or the rest of the world globe?

Michael Jordan compared to the soccer dude I forgot his name already. Globally... Not just in America. And I was saying most accomplished MMA fighter... Because with all the weight classes, you cant classify a "best" unless you go strictly off of record alone.

So you're saying teenagers from any continent other than N.America would recognize Jordan before Beckham?

Wow.... Look toward the ceiling William money... That would reading comprehension flying right past you. This whole debate is about America vs. the World. Beckham and Jordan are both from America... So you confuse me. I am talking about the Ronaldo guy.

Nah, not a Brit. Sorry to disappoint you tho. Grew up in Boston Massachusetts, not Boston England. And if I was a Brit, I would be a sorry excuse from all my Pro-American comments made thus far.

did he say why? you mention brit humor to be outdated. Are there any quality shows on British TV these days besides the office?

Americans can be the worst or the best people you can ever meet. Oddly like almost any other nation. How about that?

Beckham and Jordan are both from America
As Ray Stokes would say, 'are you avin a laugh', 'is he avin a laff'.
For christs sake, anyone with half a brain knows Mitchell Jordan is Canadian.

100 says rtc is a brit
Course he's a brit. His grammer doesn't suck.

We've got a new trainee on the course. She introduced herself as being from Australia. Then during an introductory, two-minute speech we have all trainees do, she chose to talk about where she said she came from: Margaret River. Yet there were some noticeable inconsistencies in her accent. We asked her about it saying something about how her accent sounded like something a bit more American than Aussie. Only then did she say, "Oh well, I've been living in Margaret River for the past 20 years but I'm originally from the States."

This woman isn't in her twenties, thirties, nor early forties. She's pushin' 50 at best. That means less than half her life has been spent in Australia yet she presented herself as an Australian until asked about about it in detail. Would a 50-year-old Aussie do this if they were living in Martha's Vineyard for the past 20 years? When given two minutes to speak about where they're from, would they not at least take a moment to clarify where they're originally from?

What is it about so many Americans that makes them feel as if they have to adopt some other nationality??? At least the English know they're English; they know their nation has fallen from grace and the state of their nation is piss poor yet they don't go around trying to hide their nationality. More Americans could take a page from our elder cousins' book.

Again, I'm the last one to stand for the national anthem, i don't fly a flag at my house, i think patriotism and nationalism should be avoided as much as religion and prayer. I just can't think of one reason anyone should have to hide their nationality...something they had absolutely no control over and never will.
