Thread: So alleged paedo arrested. oh, and he is a teacher

Does anyone know what school he taught at? I'm not a teacher, but my first child will start int'l school or an EP program next year and quite frankly this type of news is very disturbing.

I know what school he taught at but frankly it ain't the school who is at fault here. I know they followed the correct procedures to get him a legit work permit 3 years ago. Don't blame the school, blame the system. No police checks required back then (and in most cases none now). What can you do? The system needs sorting.

You may not be wrong, those people often do a Walter Mitty type act. What one person thinks is a nice bloke another could quite easily think of as a blow hard.

Its not an international school, its a bilingual school. The school doesn't really matter here, they were not at fault as per the current rules. He's got a valid work permit, coincidently he also got a new passport from the embassy 2 years ago. No background check could have been carried out on that if all the tales in the news are true about the sex offenders register. Someone has cocked up or the facts in the media are not the facts.

hey goo -- why not call his wife and offer her some emotional support through this nightmare. wharever you are experiencing, she is getting it a hundred times worse.

^Done last night. We will work something out. My Mrs and me are a long way from it all, we do have a couple of Thai friends working on the situation. It is all a bit difficult though. I need to stop and think about things myself and get my head around it before I can help her.

my guess is that given the charges and your having cleaned his hard drived a time or two that the authorities would be interested in what you have to say as well. it can be theraputic for family and friends (in light of my previous post of you and others being nonsexual victims) to roll on guys like this as well. however, this is a decision you should make with the able assistance of very capable legal counsel (thai and your home country).

^ ^I would love to 'roll on him' but I really have no idea about what he has been up to. I cleaned his hard drive but didn't look at anything in it before I did it, just formatted it and re-installed Windows. I didn't save any data before I did it, he had done that on disks before I did anything and then he re-installed the data. I cannot add to a police investigation as I saw nothing and suspected nothing. As said before, I am stunned by these allegations and really do think that this is all some massive mistake/hoax or something. I know that is denial, but hey, I am only 12 hours into this story and can't really grasp the magnitude yet.

Trust me, I would speak to the authorities if I had even the smallest information to help. I don't. Perhaps I am a blind, gullible idiot who knows a guy for years and things happen before my eyes which I don't see, I don't know, but I want to wait until all the facts come out in court.
