Ok, well you guys probably won't have a clue who I'm on about, but today I was gutted to learn that a childhood friend of mine, Lola Almudevar was killed in a car accident in Bolivia.
Lola was a girl I used to hang round with in Nottingham, we were friends , not overly close, but close enough that we'd pile round her house once in a while and gatecrash her birthday party 3 years in a row without fail. My mate Michael was the first guy to get to snog her, which he got great kudos for, and she was a totally mad smiley person to be around.
I then did not see or hear from her from about 1995 til this year when I joined Facebook and found out from her profile she was travelling around Bolivia, one day she pointed to a BBC news article that she had penned and I and many others were impressed with how far she'd come.
She was on her way to report on a demonstration, when her car collided into two trucks that had already crashed and was killed instantly. The colleague she was travelling is seriously injured in hospital.
Lola was 29, in her prime, her journalist career was taking off, and I'm totally gutted.
