Does "All the President's men" count?

    If so, that's my nomination.

    Added after 1 minutes:

actually, I liked the recent Nixon movie too

    Added after 8 minutes:

Going by some of the posters on this forum, I bet if you did a poll on this "Rocky" would come out top!

    Added after 11 minutes:

which reminds me of "The Madness of King George"; which was changed from it original title of "George III" following responses from American test audiences leaving movie theatres saying they enjoyed it so much where could they get a copy of parts I and II?

    gotta love Americans

    Added after 13 minutes:

and that bring me to "Shakespear in Love", which is shite, but really made me laugh!

Good on you ray, gotta love a movie thread.

Does "All the President's men" count?
Certainly does in my opinion! Good movie too.

    "The Madness of King George";
Another good one, they'd both be on my list, as would Raging Bull, mentioned in the OP. One of the all time great films. Apart from them, here's some that come to mind.

    Breaker Morant
    Dog Day Afternoon
    My Left Foot
In The Name Of The Father
    Man On The Moon
    Bonnie And Clyde
    Amadeus
    Barfly
The Passion Of Joan Of Arc
    The Last Temptation Of Christ

Shine was a good film, but a bit overrated I thought. And Ali was flawed as a movie, but the performances, particularly by Will Smith and Jon Voigt, were superb.

Apparently Scorcese is making a film about Bob Dylan. Should be interesting.

Did anyone see Ray yet? I saw it on DVD last week, was very disappointed in it. Likewise, I thought Million Dollar Baby wasn't worth the price of the admission

Liked Francis with Jessica Lange and does Boogie Nights count/ Isn't it supposed to be based on John C Holmes? Others that spring to mind Spartacus, The Great Rock and Roll Swindle and The Private Lives of Henry VIII

Trying to appease the militarists are we? A ggod move to get a large group on your side; why do you think I chose a movie about a porn star on a Thai based board?

I'd forgotten all about that, the movie about Frances Farmer. Great film as I remember it, must be 20 years since I saw it though.
