Chiang Mai Saloon along Thannon Loi Kroh is good, but small. Their one by Thapae Gate is bigger, but not as good. The UN Irish bar just next to it is ok. That whole road in fact might be your kinda thing. Expat bars and restaurants.

Or then there's Soi FUN. T.Loi kroh. The strip with all the BGs and 300B LBs. Sanook mak mak.

'The What' is good on the left hand side, pool table, good bloke owns it, and the one place that doesn't have BGs along that street.

Then there's the MUST GO TO place... 'SPICY'

Go there after 2 as it's an after hours kinda place... last time there they had buckets of Jim Bean and coke for 350B... Just jump in a tuk tuk and say 'Spicy'... or follow the trail of yabba heads, BGs, sexpats, backpackers, pervs and dropouts.

They also have pizza slices...

we stayed at the Pornping Tower hotel close to the night bazaar so we went to some of the pubs around there but we were going to visit a school first thing next morning and wanted a quietish night so we just went to the 'Bubble' disco/night club attached to the hotel.. had a good night (i got back to the hotel about 3am) but once again i never made it to 'Spicy'... ah well.. maybe next time...

No worries... Bubble can be good somenights... good to have an actual dancefloor for people to dance on, the banging techo kinda does me head in after 1/2 hour as I don't do E's anymore... which also seems to make the wall-to-wall LBs in there seem less attractive... go figure.
