I was going to open up a new thread but decided to stick it here..
I saw a female western beggar yesterday on lower Sukhumvit. I don't recall exactly where but it was the odd number side somewhere near Pomodoro. Not a lot shocks me in life these days but how does a western woman get to that here? I don't get it. I saw her in McD's this morning too. Dunno if she's homeless as well- surely not?
Anyone know her story?
Why doesn't she get a job as a hostess in one of those Jap bars?

Are they actually teachers...or just people who can't do anything else for a living so they try teaching...I am in my 50's and don't expect to be short of work until I want to give it away. I think there would be quite a few older people in that situation in the LOS.

I am not sure if its the same bloke, but some knob head is sitting beside the MRT near Asok with a hard luck story written on his bag. I sat and listened to his tale of woe...well what else could you do, it was such a ridiculous thing to see. In the end it was even more ridiculous to listen. He only wants a job if it pays 150k (US dollars) per year. This bloke needs a hole drilled into his scone to let out the CO2 or whatever else he is sniffing. For a moment or 2 I thought about buying him lunch, but then the moment passed on and so did I.
