I've just sent the questions to Greg and I like the look of them.

BTW, what happened in the last two months?

I take them very seriously....but I don't do them over the phone. I never have.
The questions are there and they are still there to be answered. By e-mail, by phone - doesn't matter.

Our civil exchange was to give me an overview of what had gone on in the last two years. My memory isn't perhaps what it was. But all the stuff about 'he logged in as him and she logged in as me and said stuff about them' is just a waste of time.

Why not look at the TW thread in the ice box along with the deleted/edited post from that thread. Might be a good place to start. Also, if you're really interested why don't you check out the TW threads in the MKP section of the otter channel.

But, if you really want a recap of the last two months here, I'd be happy to oblige.

Oh and I noticed Greg removed all those nasty comments about the admin and moderators after you posted that you sent Greg the questions for the interview.

    Coincidence?

So we're definitely talking more 'David Frost' than 'Jeremy Paxman' here.

Or perhaps, like Frostie, you're just lulling Greg into a false sense of security before hitting him with a whiplash enquiry like

'Is Andy REALLY Vanila Ice', Amigo?

Wonder if Ole' Jack Straw might be a decent "Hot Seat" candidate. Right after Whitey...to be recorded in the anals of TEFL work forever.

I did slip in a question about Andy in fact.
It was going to be "where is he working now?" but I felt that was a bit lame.

    Re: TEFLWatch Forums Closed Permanently

You mean after the interview has been put up, the members can ask questions on a special thread here on the forum?
That would work. Probably need to have a moderator in order to set up certain terms of reference such as lenght of post, not allowing any attacks even remotely personal and banning offending members from posting on the thread (i.e. if they don't play by the rules they are asked publically not to participate.

I'd give it about a four day window then lock it down, perhaps with a summation from both yourself and Whitey just to close things out nice and neatly.

Would be a nice adjunct to the interview.

Good idea but really necessary to have iron fisted moderation on the thread over that period.

    Looking forward to the interview.

I hope that somebody can get the site up again!

There were 'issues', and many of the other comments on here are true---like making sure you turn on the 'unhappiness filter' (ajarns having a pop due to individual issues, sour grapes).

However, even if the site made sure that ONE newbie didn't end up working in a dodgy school, it did a good job. I routinely send the URL to newbs in the UK and USA at the same time as I send the ajarn.com details. Both sites have good points and are useful.

I am sad that it has come to this level of bickering. There are no winners, only losers now. We all lose a precious resource...and God knows we need such resources in this lousy job scene.

Indeed. The site will be missed. I hope someone esle will take it up. I also hope the past information is kept availiable on the interent. It kept me from applying to at least one school where it would have been a mistake. I think everyone viewing the forum knew that one could be looking at the rantings of a disgurntled ex-employee. However it was the start in a search for information. It took the rose colored glasses off the schools.

I agree. With all the legal threats and so on and then not being able to get the ad revenue from schools makes it a difficult business model.

This was the site we could go to to talk openly about problems with schools and administration. About getting shafted on contracts and so on. As I say, the site will be missed. I hope that the owner changes his mind or that the site is passed on to someone else who will keep it up.
