Bus to Koh Samet and Koh Chang
Hi all,
Was just wondering if anyone has the current price for the bus to Samet and Chang? I read it was 85THB for air con to Samet on one site...then another site said it was 150THB. Not sure which one is correct.
Does the bus to Samet take you directly to the ferry terminal? If not, is it easy to get there from where the bus drops you off in Ban Phe?

The bus to samet is more than THB85 baht, the latter figure of THB150 would be more likely. The bus drops you off in Ban Phe, right across from the ferry terminal.
For chang, take the direct bus to laem ngop, not the bus to trad. This bus drops you off at the centre point ferry pier. It's a few hundred baht or so.

^ If you book and go from KSR (van) you may have to change, but from Ekkamai (bus) it's direct, I believe.

the rayong route used to be quicker
but since they have done the road up i dont know if that is still true
its an option for coming back if the buses are full

Grab the Rayong bus at Ekami. At the Rayong bus station, hop on the Ban Phe songtow. Easy as pie.

Thanks everyone for the info. If I take the bus to Rayong and then hop on a song tow, how do I know where it is going?
I think I will book everything through a travel agency either on KSR or somewhere else in BKK. Probably more convenient and might even save a few quid.

Walk off the bus, approach someone who may work at the bus station, not the guy shouting "you,you" aske them where the songtaw is that goes to ban phe. i have a feeling it will all be very clear for that destination.
Do it yourself, the feeling of accomplishment is great. dont be a slave to the KSR travel agent.
