How much does the forum cost the world economy, with methodology. PART 1

Right, basically the way this will work (if you agree) will be for you to answer a few polls.

Firstly, say if you go on the forum at work. Saying 'no' is just as important.

Next you say on average how many hours you spend on the forum while you should be working. Only do this if you answered 'yes' to the previous poll.

We will then multiply the average time spent on the forum at work with the average hourly wage of all workers on the forum in USD, I'm sure you'll be able to work out your hourly wage.

Next we will find out how many forummers there are in total. We will then multiply this by the final cost per hour figure.

I won't provide a poll for this figure so we can discuss it.

Possible weakness: This methodology does not take account of Lurkers. How do we incorporate the impact of lurkers lurking at work? We can't poll them....

I suspect it will be in a similar fashion to working out how much money Lurkers cost!

    Bad set up.

1: How do you define working hours? teaching hours or being at school from 8 to 4. How do you define productivity IE. Are people going on a forum while they are idling around or while they are supposed to finish set tasks.

2: How does forum browsing relate to potential benefits in the social, political sphere IE. how does forum work detract from relationships and potential economic prosperity.

3: how does forum browsing halter or benefit productivity.

4: Hourly wages are calculated how, teaching hours or hours at school.

5: How do you calculate multitasking

    etc.
    etc.
    etc.
    etc.

Given the weekend drop off in users by about 15%...I'd say a good many use it EXCLUSIVELY at work, while others are merely addicted to it all the time.

Re: How much does the forum cost the world economy, with methodology. PART 1

1: How do you define working hours? teaching hours or being at school from 8 to 4. How do you define productivity IE. Are people going on a forum while they are idling around or while they are supposed to finish set tasks.
Working hours are defined as your total hours per year you are expected to be "at work" based on your contract. IE if you are supposed to be at work for 7 hours a day 5 days a week for 40 weeks, then your total hours are 7x5x40. Your salary is your total monies recieved per year. The last part is irrelevant. All I am asking for is hours and salary and time on Ajarnforum.net.

2: How does forum browsing relate to potential benefits in the social, political sphere IE. how does forum work detract from relationships and potential economic prosperity.
    Not relevant.

3: how does forum browsing halter or benefit productivity.
    Not relevant.

4: Hourly wages are calculated how, teaching hours or hours at school.
As previously stated. However many hours are defined in your contract as you HAVING to be at school.

5: How do you calculate multitasking
    Not relevant.

    Hope this helps!

OK, then I want a question with funny hats as well, and on about how many employees are browsing while doing up their clowns face before class.
