In that he initiated this by asking the forum for help does justify any follow up by Forum members in my opinion. In fact it is kind of incumbant upon the forum to follow through on this. Not yet of course. But come Monday or Tuesday I hope someone will step up to the plate and initiate some action, trying to contact the family, perhaps even contacting some authority.

Probably the best thing to do would be for someone to post a message on the forum saying, in effect, "if we haven't heard from you by Monday, etc. then we are going to initiate some activity to contact your family, authorites, etc.

At that point he could contact anybody by PM is required to let the members here know that he is alright but just needs time to straighten things out.

Given the circumstances the forum, IMO, has some responsibilty to act.

Maybe, after reading all of this, he doesn't want to come back. Supposing that this is a genuine cry from help from a dazed and confused person, just imagine reading this thread after surviving a violent ordeal and a two day bus journey with no money for food or water. I'm sure that he'll give Bao Dang and Eso a call when he's got himself sorted.

Well. maybe we can all agree....that if (IF, IF, IF) DC has gotten himself into some kind of jam, by his own mistakes.....then we will forgive him.

We just want to know that one of our posters is safe and sound now. That is our mission afterall. None of us are perfect. I know I have had some bad luck AND I've done some stupid things (sometimes blaming it on bad luck)

If he was jumped, hurt or anything else that resulted from pure back luck, I think he'll be forgiving of the inevitable speculation that has gone on, so we can meet him halfway there...and forgive him, if.....if if.

I still think you are completely wrong on this. Sounds rather like an over zealous social worker. If DC thought his sister, for instance, could help or needed to know, how hard would if have been for him to have said this in his PM to Eso?

I think you have zero justification for contacting his family on this.
