Didn't bother to read the article Assumed it was captain sensible in one of his drunken states throwing his soiled underwear skyward. He really should know better at his age. *wags long bony finger in the general direction of Australia*

...unwell, I spent too many years working just a little south of Melbourne on the north coast of a small island called Tasmania. Around this time of the year it is common to see Auroras (the Aurora Australis) in southern Australia. Bloody magnificent and I have often thought the bright lights flashing and pulsing in the sky look like what I'd imagine a UFO to look like. There is usually 1 or 2 UFO sightings reported at around the same time that the sky has been going off, most likely a combination of some good dope and an uggboot wearing poorly educated bevan I reckon.

I once saw something in the sky up around Uthai Thani province that I thought looked like a UFO - probably the heat and local whiskey playing tricks on me.

Just read the story, 10.30 on Friday night, orange lights in the sky, Ferntree Gully - yep, sounds like a case of the ganja and an aurora.

The orange lights are caused by scallywags, firelighters and orange garbage liners!

Only in Australia would a news story mention Upwey and Ferntree Gulley in the same paragraph. And then there's this gem of a comment: "The shaky video shows a dozen pricks of light forming shapes such as diamonds, lines, characters and what looks like the Southern Cross." I mean, only Down Under could a dozen pricks get together and imitate the Southern Cross. In East Texas, a dozen pricks might try to imitate that line by their fellow native, "She had a lot of pretty, pretty boys that she calls 'friends.'" And some guy standing on the side of the road, shouting "Take me, take me!"

What do you mean imitate. Are you refering to the song, from Crosby, Stills and Nash?

    Added after 3 minutes:

or are you talking about this?

"We're all very different people. We're not Watusi, we're not Spartans, we're Americans. With a capital "A", huh? And you know what that means? Do you? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts."

Beautiful pic of Ayers Rock and the stars. Since that's daylight sky, are you saying the UFO's appeared that brightly, or is that a composite picture?

Shall have to get over there sometime.

Is at Ayers Rock that I'll find the guy on the side of the road screaming, "Take me! Take me!"?

Yep, you just revealed to the rest of us your ignorance of one more thing you didn't take the time to investigate before you opened your mouth on yet another topic you know nothing about.
