Thread: Taking the pee or what?

So I wanted my missus to be able to spend some more time back in the village with her kids and not have to work 14 hours a day in Bangkok for sod all money. So i gave her basically much more than a years wages to go take some time off. She comes over to visit me in Singapore and I wondered why she didnt bring her ATM card with her, so I had to shell out for everything.
Turns out her mum has blown the lot in 3 months. So now she has got to go back to work. Jesus. Why do I bother?
They dont even have a buffalo for it to be sick.

Sadly you are regarded as the family exchequer, mum will blow it all, that is her god given right as that is how it works here some ( not all) parents will happily drive their kids into poverty especially if their daughter (s) have have a foreign husband (s).

Been lucky with my wife's family though, solid characters through and through not leeches.

Brutal but must be said. Who believes the mom did it? I would much more guess the wife in a situation like this. Mom is just an easy excuse.

...and you were expecting them to frugally budget the sum for the entire year???

Or, you could give her a months salary every month and change your name to ATM...

All my mother in law has ever had out of us is our furniture from our house when we moved back, to be fair my brother-in-law forked out most of the cost of building her the house, and she did return the sinsot in full so it seemed fair enough
