The deep south was about the only place in Thailand where I had Thais regularly buy me food and drink, and where I felt that the local populace did not regard me as either a three-headed alien or a potential source of income, or both. When I was on Samui in 2004, I used to buy large quantities of gr*ss, and the most trustworthy bunch to purchase from were the Muslims on the island.
They weren't interested in getting to 'know' me or even talking much to me, they knew I was 'cool' so it was always a fast transaction, the same deals they'd give other Thais.
No waiting around in public places, no sitting around rejecting continuous offers of booze, just a plain old boring drug deal.
I referred many customers in their direction, with pleasing results and wouldn't hesitate to use their services again.
...there's a recommendation: Muslims are trustworthy dope dealers...what other reason would you need to convert, JD?
