You've been busy with a story you're not interested in.
Perhaps you are looking at things from a media representation angle?

The interest lies in the fact that "we" (meaning the public) have made the man incredibly wealthy. He always thought he was in control. He always projected a "Mister Clean" persona. He always used the press and media to his personal benefit. He always set himself above others in the field.
And, Americans love to learn that the hi-so are just like the rest of us.
He plays golf...who gives a fuck it a shit game.
He shags lots of women....lucky bastard.
He will lose millions....he has millions.

Who's Tiger Woods?
If I could do it all over again, I'd do it all over you.
I don't know how. No one bought his CDs or paid to go to his concerts or even his games for that matter.
I sure he makes some sponsor money and maybe we contribute by buying the sponsors products but it's not like he's a popstar or famous for being famous or well promoted.
he is where he is because he keeps beating other people at golf.
Doesn't really matter if his image is tarneshed, as long as he keeps winning.
it's not like people are going to stop buying his records.
Having a quote from someone on the Forum as your signature. Legal?
You personally may be doing nothing to make him wealthy, but the general public is.
He wins golf tournaments, the winnings of which are paid by public companies who want publicity...why, because publicity sells...whatever the product may be to the company.
Companies pay him millions for endorsements. Why? Tiger's face next to product increases sales.
Broadcast networks love him. When he plays in a tournament, ratings are way up. When he doesn't play, ratings plummet. Higher ratings earn higher advertising dollars.
I think that if you ask 100 people if celebrity product endorsements have any effect on their consumption, they would all answer no.
Remember reading that after Woods was featured in an advertising campaign for Buick cars there was a significant increase in sales of Buicks and he was given credit for much of the increased purchases. He is certainly credited for increasing the attendance in golf tournements. These are among the testimonials that his name has made many millions for others. No other asian has been as successful in making money thriough endorsements IMO. If he had been Chinese-Thai imagine what he could have achieved.
“Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders; no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way for himself if society is sweeping towards destruction. . . . What is needed to stop the trend towards socialism and despotism is common sense and moral courage.” Ludwig von Mises
Whatever happens it is most likely that Woods will soon split with his wife in the near future, trading domestic strife for the more exotic struggle of managing a stable of lovely sluts and screening hordes of harem volunteers.
My guess is that the population of aspiring beauties among the golf spectators will be on the rise. The world contains an inexhaustible supply of pretty young women, often in straitened circumstances for whatever reason, who would take any opportunity to rub up against such men in the belief that some money will fall off.

Woods takes 'indefinite break' from golf

Tiger Woods announced on his website late Friday he is taking a hiatus from professional golf, using the word "infidelity" for the first time in a statement.
"After much soul-searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father and person," he said.
Woods apologized for his behaviour, as he did in a statement on Dec. 2 when he admitted to "transgressions" in the wake of a Nov. 27 incident near his Florida home when he drove his SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree.
Several women have since come forward to allege affairs with Woods, who has been married for five years to Elin Nordegren.
He has not been seen in public since the SUV crash.
Woods did not disclose Friday how long of a break he would take from the PGA Tour. It had already been announced after he pulled out of last week's Chevron Challenge that he would not tee up again in 2009.
The PGA Tour said it supported the decision by its biggest star.
"His priorities are where they need to be and we will continue to respect and honour his family's request for privacy," PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said in a statement, the tour's first public comment since Woods mentioned his "personal failings" on Dec. 2.
"We look forward to Tiger's return to the PGA Tour when he determines the time is right for him."
I'm going to have to call this a chickenshit move.
Best thing for him would have been for him to get back on the course pronto.
Of course, I could be well wrong![]()
