I actually had a sick buffalo story for myself. Now I know how much it really costs.
First when I got the news about the cattle being sick or at least one of them I suddenly started to sweat because I thought a demand for some cash would come.
When I reluctantly asked: "how much?" she said "Just 60 baht. Last time I had the vet come togive the injection but that was too expensive at 300 baht."
So if you ever have a bar girl tell you a sick buffalo story and you want to be kind, give her 60 baht. She will wish she had asked you about money for the taxi.![]()
Althoug I understand those are not buffalos we were talking about but I am not the farmer in this relationship. I have just one buffalo and that's my avatar.
That buffalo in your avatar looks ill, what have you been feeding him on, rocks?Originally Posted by Fabian
Yes, 60 baht's enough to use the Internet for an hour, at least. Then she can ask some real dumb farang for some real cash for a 'sick buffalo'.
I actually priced a buffalo about a year ago.
$700 USD for an adult male 5-7 years old, in Nong Khai.
About the same as a second-hand motosai in good shape.
With the price of gasoline these days, it might be cheaper to ride the kwai.
Food for the beast also yields a commodity.
And you score some serious cool points with the ladies.![]()
"Would you like to come back and see my buffalo?"
Hmm.
I'll try it and let you know.
I live on 11th floor so this one should be interesting....
