Going crazy when getting to Bangkok.

I can't be the only one who loses the plot when going to Bangkok or other places with bars, women and entertainment centres.

After having a weekend in Bangkok and losing control of my senses and a lot of money, I'm a bit interested to find out if I'm the only one who has no self-control when visiting the big city or cities.

It started off well as I never had my first drink until 9pm. One of my friends likes bubble baths so I had to wait on him finding the right establishment.....never understand people who want a bath late at night and not drink alcohol...stupid American that he is.

He spent the best of two hours getting an massage a which cost him 2200 baht, in that two hours I spent the same amount on drink...obviously I bought a few people a drink(women). When I eventually met my friend I was well gassed. We continued drinking until the late hours.....spent double what he did, he is not the heaviest drinker.

The next day was Friday and it was the Queens birthday so no bars were open..well not supposed to be open. I had my first beer with my friend at 10.30 and he left me at 12.30 to go to the airpost to catch a plane. I in the other hand stayed and continued to drink and got very drunk.....I'm good at that.

Come 3 pm I'm shit faced and starting to lose the plot, have been to the bank and taken money out and spent well over 4000 baht, so I take out a large amount of money.....still to this moment I don't know why. I put 10'000 baht in my bag and kept a 3000 baht in my wallet so the theory being I wouldn't spend the money in my bag just the money in my wallet...great idea?

After meeting a guy from Australia and some ginger haired guy from Wales, things started to go wrong. An argument started for some reason which I can't recall and the cunt put his glass in my face........no serious damage to me, just a 3 inch long scratch on my face, the argument was probably my fault.

The incident was de-fused quickly and I finished my drink and left.....without my fucking bag.

So continued to drink and forgot about the bag and the money inside it, eventually I got a taxi home at around 1 or 2 am on Saturday....home at last.
I am the only one who does this, goes to Bangkok and spends around 20'000 baht....now I'm skint and pissed off and seriously depressed. I've heard, witnessed and read about people coming to Thailand and becoming an idiot and getting into trouble and mainly just being a waste of space.

Thailand has too many temptations for a guy like me and now I'm counting the days for my arrival at Glasgow airport, only 7 weeks to go...the devil inside me has to go home to normality

Am I the only one that is this stupid?

Took a friend to Bkk in june. Our first night on the piss & we got wasted...well to cut a long story short one minute we was eating kha kai with some lovely's & the next minute I was venturing down to nana...Yep I was pissed & with no concideration at all I seemed to have left him stranded with some thai girls in a massive city loool...I thought nothing of it untill the next day. Woke up with this girl & thought shite, where the fuk is he!!!

Imagine it, its his first time in Bkk, He speaks not a word of Thai & he was at the guest house for about 2 hours. I went to koh sarn to look for him(as this is where we started drinking & I remember telling him this is one of the most famous roads in Bkk)...No sign of him. Soo I went back to the guest house & waited. Finally 6pm the next day he came tumbling through the door, T shirt over his shoulder looking like a drowned rat loool...Oh I have never been so pleased to see him in my life

Not quite as extreem as your encounters Shuggy. I am a little cautious about drinking & getting wasted with people I dont know. And I do try to keep a steady head, especially in other countries!

It's that cold and it's good to socialize. I think people drink more in Thailand and if I was in the UK drinking I would go home when drunk as it's boring.

I notice your location is BKK so it's different for you, you live there and I visit there.

It was an Aussie and a Welshman, and the Welshman did it.

    The Aussie was sound.

OK to have a blow out once in a while, mate. But when people start going to ATM on a bender, they run the risk of pick-pocketing.

After meeting a guy from Australia and some ginger haired guy from Wales, things started to go wrong. An argument started for some reason which I can't recall and the cake put his glass in my face........no serious damage to me, just a 3 inch long scratch on my face, the argument was probably my fault.
This is a bad sign. Did you make them angry, or were they just jerks? He could have sliced your face open. You could have also lost an eye.

The incident was de-fused quickly and I finished my drink and left.....without my fruiting bag.
Keep your cash on person, in your pockets divided up, or in a money belt worn on the inside of your underwear. Never in a bag.

Plan on travelling elsewhere? BKK can drain money fast.

Am I the only one that is this stupid?
I don't think you're stupid mate but becareful when you drink, and take money out of ATMs, and don't remember someone hitting you in the face with a glass.

A buddy of mine lost an eye, another was seriously injured in a fall....my cousin ended up dead in a Bangkok hotel room 3 years ago.

    Take care and be careful.

Good cut, DD. But the far majority have been lucky. The only ones that had something bad happen to them was when they were out late at night, with strangers, and there was too much drinking. These incidents all happened to guys that were in their late teens or early twenties.

Witmaster, sorry to hear that. May I ask, what happen to your cousin?

Truth is .. not much to do in LOS 'cept booze & s**. That bubble bath sounded kinda nice, actually. Especially w/ 'blowfish' swimmin' around in it.
