    Friend Finder: What Happened?

Wasn't that long ago you could look up your friends and get their email, phone number and address, free. All that has changed. I went back 10 pages on Google/Yahoo and all I got were requests for credit card numbers.

Does anyone know of a free friend finder for the US? The problem with paying is that you often get the wrong person.

I gooled it out of curiosity, complete with pics yes.

If you want to find old friends guess Farcebook is good for that or hunt through the white pages if you know the full names.

I found a few old friends by just googling their names and the search engine throwing up various networking sites with same name profiles (linkedin was where I found 2 old friends in the end).

It helped that they had quite obscure names. If you are looking for a Mr. Steven Jones you might have a harder time.

    facefuck
Daniel Bedingfield claimed that his new album is what it would sound like if Sting, Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson were in a basement together - I haven't got the album so I'll have to imagine the sound of a blind bloke and a Geordie kicking the shit out of a pedophile.

Actually, no. He's living in Bangkok and prefers the name 'Susan' nowadays.

    How long ago was that?

I put my own name in. What I got was two cities I lived in 20 and 30 years ago .. then you click for more detail and the fees come up. Now someone looking for me wouldn't find shit at those addresses/phone numbers. That's why I refuse to pay, it's unreliable. I doubt these old friends are on facebook, not the type.

An email search is best. Oddly enough two old friends have found me here, on this forum. Through registration I guess.

To find friends, I just use old fashioned internet sluething.

Never paid a diime; never will.

No gaurantee you'll get info, but the credit card numbers you note.

    Good luck.
