So my gik calls me today and starts going on and on about some buffalo business up in Issan.

I started laughing, thinking she was trying ye ole' "my granny's kwai is sick and we need money." "Wow" speaks zero English,btw.

I said, "listen sweets, you get xxx amount every month and it's your job to make the best of it."

She was confused when I changed the subject.

Finally I deduced that she wasn't asking for anything, she just called to tell me that her mother won the jackpot at the market festival and the prize is a free buffalo.
