Thanks for all the useful replies.

I'm the kind of person who doesn't like lose ends. And I tend to worry.

It does not seem that there are an overabundance of legal beagles on the forum.

I'll tell you one thing for sure...no more picking up hitchhikers.

My intention was to do a decent deed and help someone whose truck had broken down get back home.

........

I'll have to get some advice as to what it all means in practical and legal terms.

The individual in question, who was carrying the weed and was stupid enough to have the smell on his breath, and who I would occasionally have coffee with and loan a few bucks to....

I'm pissed off at him.

He's the brother of my best friend...

We'll see.

It's getting to be a mad world in terms of how paperwork and documents get spread around and interpreted one way or the other...

That I know.

Innocent do-gooder goes "on the record"

In an incident similar to last week's Brits being detained by Homeland Securtity in LA, innocent nice guy, russlesimpson was recently detained by RCMP and put on record as a registered pot head.

"I've never had any kind of record in my life" cried simpson. The incident happened after the not-so-accused received a phone call from a stranded friend (who in an interesting twist, became a "hitchhiker" halfway through his story). Simpson's hitchhiker friend was carrying cannabis when the pot-head pair passed through a roadblock and were subsequently searched.

"If I knew he was carrying he would never have gotten into my car" simpson lamented.

Despite internet claims of being a lawyer himself, simpson is now seeking the advice from an "overabundance abundance of legal beagles" who are for the most part, teaching English in Thailand--curiously, only those of Canadian nationality will do. If you have any words of advice for simpson, please post them on our comments page, as Simpson claims to be free of all other records in Canada and cannot be reached.

Seriously Russ, looks like Canada is getting worse that China. I'm mean the coppers are doing whatever that can now and it's gone too far. No one even dares to criticize them!
