So true, but equally true is that so many folks are lacking in that department. In fact, I reckon it is nearly a requirement to be lacking in common sense when coming to Thailand to teach.

Sorry, I can't buy that. What hasn't changed are wages, still low. And there is no such animal as common sense. What is common about sense when superimposed over the world's cultures? Look both ways before crossing the street is common sense. Having a cup of tea at tea time and toasting on one side and smearing Vegemite on it doesn't make sense to anyone I know round here. IMO, and many others I'm sure, the quickest route to failure in Asia is to employ your Western sense as a means to understand people who don't think like you.

    Interesting topic.

Here's my go: thread: God I am so much better than you.

My job is better, my girlfriend/wife is better, my degree is better, my life is better, I get more money than you, my posts are better.

You get my point? smug gits with nothing much to shout about as far as I can see, yet spend an awful lot of time online telling people how much better than you they really are. Its sunny outside, go out and have a coke and a smile.

I like when Thainess questions come up and guys spout off knowing it all when you know damn well they just asked their wives for the answer. Then as they argue back and forth how comical it is knowing in fact in reality it's their wives slugging it out by proxy.

Thread - Instant rabbits chat funnily hole in the hedge dog crop.

Pros - The story that follows could be copied and pasted directly into a mattyom reading comprehension test
    - After reading the story, we will be given a link, with options of purchasing online replica watches and/or indian teak doors
    - The OP gives Jonah's posts a semblance of sanity

Cons - There aren't any, that I can see.

Replies - There aren't any, that I can see.

Summary - perchance excellence, fine monkey botherer, and only family can last that for a penny. YAY!!!

The worst job in Thailand must be the man who has to sit down with a blue marker pen and mark a number two on the two-baht coins to stop people thinking they are one-baht coins.

So, is this thread meant to create an updated FAQ, or is it merely entertainment?
